NSX Moves to the Gold Coast
Monday, 29 October 2007
Adam Gallagher
The decision by the NSX follows months of negotiations with the company by Adam Gallagher, Business Development Co-ordinator of Business Growth Gold Coast.
Business Growth is an independent, non-profit organisation established in 2006 with Australian Government and Gold Coast City Council funding to attract investment and businesses to the city. Venture Forth and Business Growth are strategically aligned to identify mentoring opportunities.
The NSX has grown rapidly over the past few years and companies listed on its boards now have a collective market capitalisation of more than $1 billion. The opportunities that exist on the Gold Coat for stock exchange listings is evidenced by the fact that the city is home to more than 40,000 registered businesses, of which fewer than 30 are listed on the Australian Stock Exchange.
The Gold Coast is therefore particularly appealing for the NSX, which is geared to the Small-Medium Enterprise market and will cater for regional businesses that require capital, transition, structuring and exit solutions - such as those that Venture Forth mentors.
As well as offering solutions for companies, the NSX Gold Coast office will complement the emergence of Private Equity firms and other investment entities in the region by providing a regulated mechanism for improved corporate governance and reporting-procedure compliance.
